Frequently Asked Questions
What is holistic PT?
Holistic PT starts with the whole person and is grounded in the concept of salutogenesis: moving towards greater well-being and flourishing, rather than away from illness. It integrates manual therapy, movement, and presence to address the root cause of pain — not just the symptoms.
What happens during a session?
Once I have evaluated you and we have come up with a treatment plan, a session involves a mix of manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, and other activities designed to move you past injury and pain and restore your body's natural state of balance.
What can I expect as results?
My patients report improvement and healing of their specific musculoskeletal conditions. They often report greater overall well-being. For those living with chronic pain, many report improved control over their symptoms — some have found a complete remodeling of their mindbody map that has restored hope, improved function, and decreased pain they believed they would have for the rest of their life.
Do you take insurance?
I am not in-network with any insurance companies. I am happy to provide you with a superbill so you can seek out-of-network reimbursement, but I cannot assist with billing or insurance issues beyond that.
How many sessions will it take?
It depends. We will always have an honest conversation: you will know my opinion, and we will work together to come up with a plan to get you where you want to go.
Is dry needling safe?
Yes, dry needling is generally safe when performed by trained physical therapists. Minor side effects like soreness or bruising may occur, but serious complications are rare. I use it as part of a comprehensive treatment plan to relieve muscle pain, improve mobility, and support your rehabilitation goals.
