How I got here
Many rivers to cross…
In my past life I was a trial lawyer — an Assistant Federal Public Defender. I pushed my body and my mind through long days, stress, and exhaustion. I hurt my mind, body, and spirit. But I didn’t care because I was there fighting for my clients to the end. As I started addressing my chronic and recurring physical pain, I began an intensive study of yoga and anatomy. Ultimately, I figured out that jails and courtrooms weren’t the right place for healing. I still have my zealous fighter ethos from those days.
Once I realized that healing was possible — and not just for me — I knew it was my job to share what I had found. I also knew that an out-of-the-box PT experience wasn’t what I wanted to offer. So in addition to becoming a Doctor of Physical Therapy, I also became certified in dry needling and studied with experts in the world of integrative bodywork — including Leslie Kaminoff and Tom Myers. I’m a yoga instructor and a certified breathwork facilitator. Along the way, I’ve studied other forms of internal awareness and movement-based healing, all of which inform my practice.
